quick Q-Fan question
hey all,
just wondering if Asus Q-Fan is an actual program or not. When I bought my board (A8N-sli) I thought there would be software on the asus disc with the utilities for Q Fan. Is it just a bios option or is there software I can download that lets me make settings? (i enabled it for a moment and my fans went haywire, slowing down and my chassis fan was below my threshold/warning speed of 800rpm). i looked on asus' site couldn't find any more info than a description. thanks steve |

I'm pretty sure it's BIOS only...but there's software to monitor it though (ASUS Probe?).

ok thats what I am starting to think too. yea i am using asus probe to monitor the system. it's brand new so i am just still getting everything all set, I am a little disappointed with how loud it is though. my girlfriends family just got a dell 5100, and though i wanted to do it myself and am really glad I did, i must say her computer is literally silent. i can hear the hard drive a little, DVD drive when its accessed, other than that, nothin. no fan noise whatsoever and its running pretty cool. i gues its time to see if cool and quiet works. is that just a bios setting too or is there a utility that lets me adjust things (or is it just that monitoring device?). ok i rambling now, thanks
