OE won't let me open attachment HELP!!!

I have a document that was emailed to me today as an attachment and Outlook Express is stopping me from opening it. I really need this doc tonite so how do I get it to open or should I have the sender fax it on Monday. I would really like to get a jump on this this weekend instead of waiting untill Monday.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

If you're sure it doesn't have a virus, go check in OE under Tools, then Options. From there, select the Security tab and make sure "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" is unchecked. Apply the changes and try opening it again.

Juppy,

Thank you. That was simple. I am now printing my document. I understand that my problem was pretty simpilstic but there are still a number of us out here that need an occasional push in the right direction.

Thanks again and Happy New Year to you!!!!!!!!!

It would be a good idea to go back and recheck that option. There have been a lot of e-mail viruses going around lately. Now that you know how to do it, you can just turn it off when you need to open something that you know is safe.

Try going to the Outlook Express - Tools/Options/Security tab and uncheck the box for “Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened etc.etc.”
