Is Registry Mechanic the best?
Is Registry Mechanic the best clean up software? I've been using the full version now for awhile and notice that it leaves things behind for programs that I've uninstalled awhile ago in the registry. Any better alternatives?

try running ccleaner.
it's supposed to be pretty good (although i don't know what good means). it cleans temporary crap off your computer and has a registry cleaner function too.

I just downloaded RegSeeker. Found 381 problems that Registry Mechanic didn't. I looked through and it all looked legit. Some stuff that I was finding that was left over from Registry Mechanic. Looks like it does a good job and it's free.

i once read an article that compared registry cleaners and there was only a small percentage of overlap between the different programs (each found different stuff).
i don't know if finding more stuff is always good, but then again i couldn't edit the registry if my life depended on it so what do i know?! |

My personal experience w/Registry Mechanic is that it is the only "Help" program that did not mess up my system so I had to wipe & reconstruct my system. But I am learning everthing the hard way. It may not be the best but it doesn't seem to be harmful. I suggest you stay with it til you (and I) learn how to work the register
