Adobe audition 1.5

Hi, wasn't sure where to post this thread so sorry in advance if its in the wrong place..... (new member)

I currently have adobe audition 1.5. The question is, is this any good for recording and editing music compared to other software available?

If not, what is and why?

Also could any one recommend any good audio forums........

I use and like it, but I only dabble in the audio arts. It seems to do well everything I've asked of it (recording cassettes and LPs, converting files, noise reduction, etc.). I only use it as it came with my Adobe Video Collection Pro, however.

Can't say I've used it. All of the audio stuff I do using goldwave.

Though, I was going to look into Audition when I had the time to see if it would be better than some aspects of goldwave.

Audition is a nice product - espcially if you've never used NLE audio packages before (it's actually the old Cool Edit Pro just jazzed up and some added features).

Audition is a good starting point to digital audio - I would consider it a prosumer package. Once you've mastered Audition you could move up to professional level products like Cubase SX, Sonar, Nuendo or ProTools (there are plenty of others - those are the NLE's I've used and know well).
