Word 2000 wont load.

OK here is another weird one for you guys (& Gals)

Since a power cut last week the pcs are refusing to load word.

I mean you click word and you get the word 2000 spalsh screen and it just stays there!

In task manager it shows winword.exe using 0 process time. Now Powerpoint, excel, Publisher etc are still functioning fine. So far I have completed the follwing.

1) System restore to a point when it was working
2) Office repair
3) Uninstall then reinstall
4) Latest service pack

I am unable to run windows updates / office updates online so cannot try these.

This has happened on 15 pcs and Im lost!

Is it a network type install of Office?

Sure wouldn't hurt to seek out and destroy the default template called Normal.dot that's known to get corrupted. It'll get recreated next time you open it.
