how to tell what comp is doing

my computer will be doing somthing the cpu will be about 4-6 percent I'm not using it and it will just start doing somthing. I try crtl alt delete and it tells me nothing.
how can I tell what its doing?

That's normal usage. It might be handling your power settings, firewall, could be anything. I wouldn't worry about it. You could go under the Task Manager/Processes tab and see if there's anything that's using up a lot of ram. Could be some program.

No problem. Mine bursts to 4-10% every now and then when I'm reading webpages. It should be fine. Also, don't forget that the program you're using to monitor the CPU usage, is using the CPU...so even that could be it.
