Hi all its me again,
I have this problem with Microsoft Word Xp. (2002) I use to have Word 2000 but then when i got my new comp i got Word Xp cd with it. But the problem is Word Xp is realy slow when i try to use it and when typing the letters dont show until after a few seconds of typing ![]() It still does it after a repair or a complete re-install of it. Word 2000 runs perfect but Word Xp is so slow and i just wanted to know if anybody else has had the same problem and if they know a fix for the problem. |

Time to head over to the Microsoft update and support pages and find out what hot fixes, service packs, etc. have been released over the last 4 years that you need for Word.

Since it doesn't sound as if you have a network printer or installed Word from over a network try this : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314960/
If the problem lies in XP itself just uninstalling and reinstalling Word wouldn't have helped. Open WordPad : Start>All Programs>Accessories>WordPad and type a few sentences. If that lags as well then try the XP repair if you have an XP cd. When you say Word 2000 works okay for you do you mean on your other machine? |

Okay, go into tools and make sure that things like track changes and word count are turned off.
Also, are your running Norton's AV? |

Okay one more shot .
Go into keyboard properties ( Control Panel > Keyboard ) does adjusting the speed make any difference? If it doesn't then, provided you want to continue with Word 2002, we get into registry editing and OS repair. |
