Adobe Reader 7.05 Uninstall

I have Adobe Reader 7.0.5 and I have problems updating it to the latest version, 7.0.5. If I open Adobe Reader and click HELP -> CHECK FOR UPDATES NOW... , nothing happens.

If I try uninstalling Adobe Reader 7.0.5, I get this Error:

Should I Try Deleting its Folder from the Program Files Directory, then cleaning it up?

Do you have a firewall what might be blocking it from connecting ? Or maybe you could install overtop of whats there and try again and if it says that it's all ready installed and will not let you install it again try this program from MS

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;290301

Thanks, the same message appears when I try an install ontop of the older one, so I guess I'll just go ahead and delete/cleanup.

Thanks for the help.

You can download the full 7.0.7 install, I'd recommend this rather than the online update - the update doesn't go particularly smooth, it took 2 reboots to get mine going.

ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader...r707_en_US.exe

But if you do Do the on line update way you can save the updates but you have to be fast because after the update finishes it will delete the file you downloaded

it's located here on mine anyways I don't know if it's different on other PC's

C:\Documents and Settings\*YOUNAME*\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\7.0\Updater

What I'm saying is do a full install, not just an update.
