The only free Acrobat is the Reader, correct? You cannot make *any* changes and save them with just the Reader. All you can do is modify the view.

Question ADOBE-How to save rotated image?

Thanks GLC!
You know I have limited use for this program.
Basically viewing, although I would like to be able to edit stuff and add text.

Plus I use
"CUTE PDF" to create and there is sometimes conflicts with the other printers. I have the free version of 7.0
I see where I can buy 6.0 for considerably less.
Is there a major difference between
6.0 & 7.0 ???

Thank You,
Jack

It takes a lot to be able to edit a PDF document. I believe that with Adobe Acrobat, you have to have the Professional, which includes Adobe Designer. You can do what you want with it.

To edit PDF documents, you can try AABBY PDF Transformer, which will convert PDF documents to Word. You edit in Word and can make them back into PDF documents with PrimoPDF or OpenOffice. Both of those are free.

ABBYY is not free, it's 50 bucks. You can download a trial though.

PDF is a universal document format, but is not a universal word processing format. It's designed to be read/printed.

PDF is not designed to be edited like a word processor. If you want to edit a pdf document like a word processor, you have to convert it to a word processing document, like MS Word. Then you edit the document and then convert that edited MS Word .doc to .pdf.

ABBYY Transformer will convert pdf to MS Word, provided it was a word .doc to begin with and not some sort of graphic.

Editing already created pdf's is a pain. Even the pay-for Acrobat Standard has a hard time doing it.

That is why I recommend ABBYY Transformer. Working in Word and reconverting back to pdf is much simpler and quicker. I use the full Acrobat Professional.
