microsoft office 2000premium

I recently installed microsoft office 2000 premium to my new laptop from a copy.

Unfortunately I cannot open all the documents I created using office works on my user accounts.

Also, quite a few of the documents were originaly created using whatever trial version of office that I had, but they converted to something else when it removed itself when I wouldnt purchase it after 90 days (I have ethical issues with this).

Is there a way I can convert my existing files so that I can open them with my newly installed microsoft 2000 in my user accounts?

When I try to open them now I get an "error 1706 no vaild source could be found for product microsoft office 2000 premium. The windows installer cannot continue."

However, and new documents I creat in any user account works just fine.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance-

You can download Open Office for free here:

http://www.openoffice.org/

Open Office can handle most MS Office documents; give it a try. You have nothing to lose. Open Office is really free; this isn't just a trial version.

Let me clarify:

Office 2000 Premium works fine in my owner account and even converted all my different documents to word docs.

But in my limited user accounts I cant get any of it to work. I just get error messages and it states that it cant install. It will open and let me type a document, but I cant open any of my previous docs.

I deleted office works by the way because I hate it. I hope that wasnt a mistake.

I have XP Home-

Send a message via AIM to thefultonhow
Convert the limited accounts to administrator accounts, open all the Office programs on each account, and then convert them back to limited accounts.
