MSN Messenger

I am getting frustrated each time when the MSN messenger is automatically sign in while i am working on my pc....Is there a way to configure the settings so that it will not automatically sign in for me?

Initially, I am using the default windows messenger 4.7 but i downloaded MSN Messenger 7.5...How do i get rid of the older version of windows messenger? Although I have already uninstall but it still there and the most frustrating part is that instead of MSN messenger 7.5, it's always the older version that is automatically sign in first for me....

MSN Messenger --turn it on go to the tools dropdown list at the top--options--general--uncheck automatically run Messenger when i log on.
Windows messenger tools--options--preferences--uncheck run Windows messenger when Windows starts.

There are tools to remove it, but I just deleted the Messenger folder from the Program Files folder. it worked for me without problems. or you could shut it off from the registry. the entry for it will either be in

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Run

or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Run

The key should be identified as "msmgs" or something like that. just delete it and it shouldnt bug you again.
