dos programs

getting rid of an older pc running windows 2000 and replacing with newer pc with xp.

i have older dos based accounting programs and file that i want to transfer to my new pc.

how do i do this? do i have to reinstall software on new pc then transfer files or is there a better way?

I'd do it in the manner that you suggest, but keep in mind that DOS programs may not run in Windows XP. You may want to test it out first.

Install it on a machine that has XP and make sure that it runs. You don't want to get rid of your Windows 2000 machine until you are sure it can work in XP.
