Softice: Error Code 31

I recently installed softice driver suite 3.1.

I've never worked with Softice before so I'm completely clueless as to how I can fix this problem.

When I run Softice, I get "Error Code 31: A Device Attached to the System is not functioning. Please Check the Event Viewer for More Information." The Event view says the same thing that the error says, so I ahve no idea what the problem is.

I'm running AMD 64
Xp SP2

Those are the only things that really affect Softice. I know XP is compatable, but I'm not actually sure about the processor.

Have you looked on Softice's web site - support section?

Ok, I believe that the problem is that the softice version I have doe snot support window's PAE. How will turning PAE off affect my system?

EDIT: Ok that is one of the problems, but not the problem causing the error message. So anyone know about the error message?

Yes, but I managed to fix the problem. I upgraded to version 3.2 (which has built in PAE support.) Then I increased the video memory on the SoftIce initialization settings to match my current resolution. It solved both problems. I get no erro message, and SoftIce actually shows up when I ctrl+d.

However, something happened to firefox. Not sure if its related, I'm just going to make another thread.
