wifes sewing machine

My wife bought a brothers 8500 embriodery sewing machine with all the goodies, pe-design ver 4 and the digitiesr, this thing scares hell out of me just looking at it, requires a 25pin security device that go's to the printer port, a interface cable with 3 port fittings 1 25 pin female,2 9 pin female rs232c fittings, the instruction book is clear as mud
help!!!!!!!!!!!
any one know anything about this,? i may have to drive 68 miles south to tulsa and get some info from the dealer as i called him and he was busy but for 50 bucks hell give me a hours class HELP sammy

Sam, I looked all over Brother's site and can't find any info on any PC accessories for that embroidery machine except a USB card reader. If you can give me a link to the applicable online manual for that accessory, I may be able to help you.

brother PE-design version 4.o , i spent hrs at the brother site when she brought it home according to the manuel you can scan a picture into the pc then run this system and it will write a card that you put into the machine and it sews it up,

GLC just got of the phone with abdulla in tulsa he gave us the wrong card writer and a outdated interface, the one that goes to this machine is usb , i may take my 1911 with me

That makes a LOT more sense!

By the way, it also looks like 4.0 is an old discontinued version - 6.0 is current.
