Window Utils

Hi

Can anyone recommend any good utility programs for keeping XP in good condition.

Right now i have Ace Utils 30 day trial - there is also:
Win Tasks, Registry Mechanic, System Mechanic - probably others.

Is one of these or any others worth paying for?

Thanks

I haven't used anything since Norton Utilities good old days. Personal opinion is that utilities nowadays do very little to improve system performance and often make it worse. A defragmenter is good but unless you are moving around big files a lot won't help that much.

Keeping spyware and adware out is probably the best that you can do for performance.

Might want to read through the two sticky threads:

Free Software list

Diagnostic Tools lists

i like reg scrubXP and RegSupreme Pro. though it's not free any more its worth it i think, should you have something in reg. that needs fixing it will show you where to go, and that is good for those of us who are a little scared of working in the reg.
