Free partitioning Software
This board gets a lot of questions about partitioning harddrives and are there free tools out there to do it. Well, here is one that looks promising and the price is right. I would use with caution and only if I have a known good backup of my harddrive. That is good advice for any software but this is pretty new and the version is below 1.0 which can mean it is a Beta product. I havent tried it myself but if you are adventuroous this may be what you're looking for.

Amazing what you can find when you subscribe to Fred Langa's newsletter, isn't it?

Along overdue kick in the butt for the self satisfied and overpriced Partition Magic. A bad choice of version numbers by Partition Logic. The current version seems to be version 9- see downloads page. Is this Linux software that has expanded to Windows? . Is the tail at last starting to wag the dog ?
I certainly will download it and try it on an unimportant hard drive to start with. |

These are pretty significant limitations:

The operative word is: FREE. For a Windows user, this thing looks like it'll work. Combine this with the freeware disk imager, Drive Image XML. Now, you've got what you need to make backups of your hard drive for no extra cost!
A new computer, $5 OEM version of Nero, and I can run the rest of my computer from freeware. But the sad thing is that those who could benefit the most from running freeware understand it the least.
