Is there a windows 98 defragmenting software
I would like to know if there is any free disk defragmenting software, programs that can be downloaded for windows 98, the one that comes with the system takes so long, thank you.

There are a number of them.
Type free defragmenter into the Google search box. The problem is that I don't know of any 'good' free ones. If you don't mind paying this one is good and not outrageously expensive : http://www.diskeeper.com/diskeeper/diskeeper.asp

Download and run the Windows ME defrag utility - it is significantly faster than the Win98 defrag and it works fine. The instructions are on the website.

should xp users also defrag in safe mode?
why is diskeeper always suggested here and perfect-disk never mentioned?
