I know there are a lot of posts out there about imaging software, but I have very specific need and want to get recommendations from any of you out there who may have already done what I am looking for.
Here is what I need it to do: 1. Create an image of a HD, but have the machine name easily renamable at startup. Very similar to the way OEM vendors (Dell) do. I've experienced problems when you simply rename the machine, especially with MSDE instances. 2. Create images on a schedule. Weekly as a scheduled process to a separate drive of equal size and also tools to recover from that separate drive in the event of disaster. 3. Burn image to multiple CD's. This would be for item #1, since I'm putting this together for training machines. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I've looked at the big name imaging software tools, but I want to be absolutely sure. |

In terms of 1 and 3, Ghost will do the trick. Last time I checked it came with a program called GhostWalker that you could get to run and rename computers on startup after Ghosting. You also might want to look into using Sysprep before making the Ghost image.
