I need help with a problem on my Computer!!

Ok, my friend brought this program called "Motorola Phone tools" by my house..It allows Cingular Razor phones to make any ringtone with a Maximum length of 30 Seconds..

Well, I pluged in the USB to my computer and to my Cell phone (Which is a BIG NO NO!) and then my friend put in the Disc and downloaded it..It kept messing up so we looked in the User's man. and it says in BIG RED letters DO NOT PLUG IN USB BEFORE DOWNLOADING...

So I try to Uninstall the program and it won't let me..It gives me this error..

>SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp(469)
PAPP:Motrola Phone Tools
PVENDOR:BVRP Software (http://www.bvrp.com)
PGUID:BAD8....Blah blah blah
$10.50.0.124
@Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) BT_OTHER 8.0

Then I click "OK"

Then it tells me

Setup has experienced an error

Please do the following:
-Close any running programs
-Empty your Temporary Folder
- Check your Internet Connection (Internet-based Setups)

Then try to run the Setup again.

Error Code: -5001

Can you help me uninstall this?!!

Here are two programs to download.
http://support.microsoft.com/default...0301#appliesto
http://www.worldstart.com/weekly-dow...cleaner4.3.htm

You may not need both but if you do you won't have to run around looking for them.

These insturctions should be read through before you do anything else : http://www.theeldergeek.com/manually...l_programs.htm

It goes like this.
Despite disclaimers the windows uninstaller may do the job for you, it works for iTunes and on stubborn games, so use it first.
If it doesn't do the job then use regcleaner, this is a manual registry cleaner-you remove all entries by hand, to help you follow the instructions from Elder Geek.
If you have questions about the last post back.

Motorola Phone Tools already did that.
Just take your time and double check and you should be fine.

well I did EVERYTHING on that website that was supposed to walk me through regedit..looking for Motorola phone tools..i never found it!!

Quote:
To remove the application entry from Add/Remove Programs (if present) open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall and find the folder for the application. Delete the folder.
Although "Motorola Phone Tools" IS in my Add/Remove Programs...I cannot find it in this step of redegit...I'm confused..

You began by running the Micorsoft uninstaller I had you download...
And take it from there so I know what you've done one step at a time.

The Windows Uninstaller didn't show it and it's not in your registry?
You don't have to uninstall anything just 'Delete' it from Add/Remove.
It never properly installed at all.

Stop this now.
Don't do anything else.
The error loop is you ( You don't need a disk to down load a program).
Just 'delete' or ignore, you're not chasing reality.
You screwed this, go no further.

Pam, he wants to install Phone Tools so he can use the software. The only way to do this is with the CD. Terminology - installing a program from a CD is not "downloading" - it's "installing". Downloading is what you do from the Internet.

Now, for a bit of admin. Phone Tools is commercial licensed software. You can't legally install your friend's copy if he has it installed on his computer. Assisting you in this case is against forum rules, it's piracy. I'm afraid you are on your own.
