Question streamlining?????

i have recently had a problem rebooting my system as i had a file or two deleted or corrupted. this was fixed with help from a few ppl on this site.
many thx to those who did reply and give me the right direction to go in.
as i wish this problem never to occur again or if it shud then i wud like to be able to help myself without having to ask for help, i asked a friend who guided me towards making an installation disk with my op sys on it(i.e. windows xp pro). he also advised that i burn the sp2 onto it aswell.
now, he mentioned streamlining the op sys with the sp2 onto a dvd disk as an iso file.
i have no idea as to what he meant and have tried looking up online to find out some info.
i dont understand much of what i have read .
can anyone either explain to me what i have to do or tell me a site which i can go to , to understand this?
any help wud be greatly appreciated
