I have had minimal experience with ventrillo, so is that where you are turning up the outbound volume???
check with the built in sound recorder in Windows and record and see if it sounds soft there...Start->Programs->accessories->Communications? somewhere like that IF it does go into your microphone setting in Windows (Volume Control maybe???) and see if you can turn the volume up there. I am at school so I cannot actually look for the settings or path but I will when i get home. I think you can get to the mic settings by right or left clicking on the volume in the taskbar and going to volume control, or advanced settings, something like that If It sounds OK from the Sound recorder, then your problem will be in ventrillo, which I am not too familiar with. |

Open up your Windows mixer. Under the Microphone volume slider there should be an Advanced button. Hit it, you should have a box to check to boost it by +20dB.
