I would like to split large files into a few parts. What software is best and fastest for this? I am currently using winrar to rar into smaller rar files, but takes too long. And I don't know if it will really work. Thanks!

if your large file(s) is/are already compressed then there is a little FREE program called " BSPLIT" that can split file into any size you wanted, REALLY FAST. the program is probably in uncompiled form___need a C/C++ compiler which can found all over the interNET.

Also try out HJSplit, another free file splitter that comes highly recommended by a number of sources.

I tried them and they are no good. What I excactly want for example I have an avi/mpeg etc. movie 700MB, What I want to be able to do is split it up in smaller avi files so people can watch. Just split the file into smaller chunks to make it the same format so anyone can view the files. I want to be able to split large fiiles and even 10 - 20GB but keeping the smaller files the same format as the orginal and when someone pastes the smaller files together they can view the 1 large file as a complete movie. You see?

Ah, you're talking about splitting VIDEO files into smaller viewable parts.
In that case, you can cut avi files with VirtualDub, for example (or any other video editing program). RJ |
