Copy one drive to another hard drive prob
Using Drive to Drive copy in Data lifeguard...I want to copy my hard drive to a Slave hard drive set up on a external usb hard drive.
Both drives are WD The only prob I have I cant see the drive in MY COMPUTER. I see it in My computer/manage/device manager, but not in MY COMPUTER. How do I get it to show up there? Thanks ps. I do have the copy to drive set as a slave... |

Guessing it's the USB slave you can see? If so, is it jumpered as Master which is a must?

Thank you I found the answer... here it is for you if you have the same prob...
Right-click on My Computer; select Manage; click on Disk Manager ==> now find the drive in the display at the right; point to it; right-click, and "Initialize" (this may pop up by itself). After you've initialized it you can partition it; format it; and assign a drive letter (or letters) to it :-) |

You should not jumper a drive in an external housing to slave. Use cable select or on a WD, remove the jumper for single operation.
