VLC Player

I have Windows 98 and my computer is 7 years old. I think it is a Pentium 350.

I downloaded and installed VLC Player but when I run it I get the following message:

Fata Error
Error while loading DLL 'Unicows.dll'!
The application will terminate now.

Is there anyway of fixing this so that it will work or does anyone know of another player that will play multiple movie formats?

Thanks

not sure about your vlc problem but you could try installing codecs and playing vids with mediaplayer classic.
you can download a codec pack from here

VLC is not officially supported on Win 9x.

You'll find this on the download page: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

Quote:
Windows 95/98/Me users: Please note that these versions of Windows are not officially supported. No VideoLAN developer uses any of these systems, which makes them hard to support.
VLC should mostly work with them, but some incompatibilities might appear. You might need to download The Microsoft Layer for Unicode on Windows 95/98/Me Systems. The two MSLU files need to be put in the C:\Windows\System32\ folder
The download link is here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/i...%2funicows.exe

Thanks for all your suggestions. I tried them all but nothing worked. I plan to buy a new computer later this year or early next year so I guess I will just have to wait until then to get VLC.
