Ewido Beta 4
I am currently evaluating Ewido's Beta version4 and so far I am impressed.
It has a very nice GUI, very well layed out with a nice clear and functional toolbar. It has many user configurable options and a host of tabs that allow you to check what is installed, what is starting up, what services are running and what plugin's are running. I was very surprised to find an acrobat reader plugin running on my system after I thought I had denied all extras associated with that annoying application. Watch this space for any further developements.

I am going ot have to say that i like it more then the previous one , witch is a surprise . The program seems to be put together nicer for some reason i just find it more freindly , that doesn't matter much , but hey every bit counts . for some reason the active gurad shuts off , i don't know why but it does it alot , only in the past few days . I hope they changed the warning when a virus is found , the old siren scared the crap out of me . i still remeber my first time using it , stereo cranked and the music was off , all of a sudden boom 440 watts of death siren in my ears , i have to say i haven't seen my cat jump that high in a while . I am seriosuly thinking about swaping out norton for ewido , it has fixed alot more problems then norton and alot of things norton couldn't . i recomend this product to everyone , its simple and works great , i just wish it was free like avg . i guess it can't all be free . i have to say i hate avg though and im to not thrilled about the merger , so far it is weilding some results , perhaps its not so bad after all

Ewido is not a *replacement* for Norton - AVG is. Ewido is not a full antivirus.

I too am quite fond of Ewido. And its online scan is great.

Ewido Beta 4 finished it's evaluation today and I have to say in the month I have been using it I have found it a very easy to use and user friendly application, I have scanned my machines with other scanners during the last month and they haven't found anything, so to me Ewido has been doing it's job.
You can download a thirty day trial of the full application here www.ewido.net or you can buy a single user licence for $29.95 After the thirty day trial you will loose several of the tools and utilities but the scanner will remain functional and updateable. |
