Specs question
I am looking for some free software that can tell me my specs of the memory which I have in my PC. For instance, the make, how many pins, size, type....etc. Is there something out there that can do that?
TIA |

Maybe something like Everest or memtest86+ will do it. You could also search for the Ultimate Boot CD, which has tons of useful utilities on it.

I have a 256 mb 168 pin sdram in my compaq presario 7360. I am just curious if it would work in my newer hp vli8 p3 400 processor without checking it manually. It's too much of a pain to do it manually if not compatible. Do you think it would work

Notebook ram is 144 pin and you can not swap it with standard desktop 168 pin ram.

Neither one of those are notebooks, Pam. He's got several other threads going on getting ram for that HP - and I've closed all but his original thread and this one.
No, there is no software that is going to be able to tell you if it's compatible. You just have to try it and see if it's stable. |
