MS Word default Save settings
My Daughter is having trouble with MS Word on her laptop. Every time she saves a Word document, it is saved as a wordpad document instead of a Word document, completely messing up the format. If I go into MS Word>tools>Options and open the Save tab, the default setting shows it to save in .doc. How can I fix this problem. The laptop runs XP.

Might seek out and destroy the default template called Normal.dot
It'll get recreated next time you open Word.
