Does it work and is it worth the 55 dollars to buy the license? Can you play games without the CD then?

yes it works fine. I love the program. as far as it working with games, it really depends on the game. if you want to save some money try daemon tools. it works great but I believe there is some adware bundled

Depending on the game's copy protection it may not run at all if you have that program installed.

Far Cry is one example of that. I don't believe it will even install with any of those types of programs on the system.
I think it's stupid. I don't like wearing out my CD's when they aren't needed to play the game.
