Email on old drive
I installed a new hard drive without backing up my outlook email.( Mistake Yes ) I installed the old drive as a second drive which still had my email information. Problem is when I open the old email program it opens in the new email program on the new drive. Any way to get my email information off the old drive to the new drive.
Thanks. |

Just move the files.
Do a windows search for *.dbx, They will be in a folder named something like this, Documents and Settings\{User Name}\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{Some really long random number}\Microsoft\Outlook Express edit: Oops! That's OE and you said Outlook. Sorry bout that. Try this instead. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287497/en-us Last edited by Panama Red; 06-15-2006 at 08:27 PM. |

Use the import wizard, choose from a store directory, point it to the folder with all your .dbx files in it.

I'll have to figure another way, I found the file and when I try the import wizard it says the program is in use and wont let me transfer the files. It acts like its trying to down load from the new outlook express I have installed on the master hard drive and not from the old drive I have installed as the slave drive.

Copy the folder that you need with the .dbx files to another location, then do the import.
