mac to windows
Is there a way to run a software which is a Macintosh compatible software package to a Windows OS?
It seems we're not getting any Mac anymore, the problem here is that we cannot run those programs created for Mac in a Windows machine. |

There are emulators that will let you run Mac programs on Windows though whether or not they'll run your programs I don't know. Start here to check the field out : http://mes.emuunlim.com/

I have gotten the emulator to work but it won't let me install my program. I guess it's read only. Any ideas?

Platesmith. It's a program that controls a laser engraving machine. Machine communication via parallel port.
Includes some fonts. Last edited by amigo; 06-20-2006 at 10:17 AM. |

As far as I can tell the emulator doesn't support that program.

Hi pam. I have gotten the program to work. It took me several hours to figure out how to install programs on an emulator. Our laser engraving machine actually responded when the program is executed.
Thanks a bunch pam for giving me the link. Last edited by amigo; 06-25-2006 at 10:35 AM. |

I was thinking, as you can tell from my post, that it wouldn't support the program. Glad you made it work. |

Now that my emulator is working, I need HAYES Smartcom II software. I've been googling for the said software to no avail. Please help.

It's really old, maybe 15 to 20 years(not sure). I learned that Hayes is now out of business. But it's one of the best terminal emulator during their time.

Running a DOS program under XP is tricky but it can be done.
You can try using the XP compatibility program first. If that doesn't work, and it likely won't unless the program would run under 95, then you try a variant of what's used to get old DOS games running. I assume XP's Hyperterminal won't do what you need?
