Reboot and check the temps in the bios. If they are within spec, uninstall the Intel program, reboot and reinstall it again if you want to continue to monitor your mobo temps, etc. Pay particular attention to the threshold temps. They will determine when you get a warning.

Thanks, I thought that would be the answer, doesn't hurt to ask. Thanks again. Jim
P.S. Just checked the temp in Bios Processor temp 62c and steady, internal temp 44c, remote temp 41. So I guess it is the program. Thanks jim

62c seems a bit warm for the cpu without a load. My Pent D 950 is running both cpu's at 100% load running Folding@Home and it's only 63c. My threshold is set at 65c and it shows no error reports. Now that's with an Asus board.

I think I was told that prescott cpu's run a little hot. I uninstalled the program and then reinstalled it. Seems to be working well. I have just the heat sink orginal on the cpu, any sugguestions to make it cooler. I can put a fan in the side directional port. Thanks Jim

That original Sonata case has a 120mm fan and the psu has a Fan Only connector. If you're using that connector the fan only sees 7volt and runs nice and slow - and quiet. But it may need to move more air. If you can stand the noise, connect it directly to a full 12v molex and see if your mobo temp and cpu temp drops. I'm thinking your mobo temp should be around 34 - 36.

That's right, I also put 120 for intake next to the hd. I do have it connected to the motherboard. Are you talking about the cpu fan to be connected to the 12v molex. Jim

Nope, the cpu fan has to stay connected to the mobo cpu/fan header or it won't even start. I'm talking about the rear case fan. Do you have it connected to the Fan Only connector? And is the front fan pulling air in?

I have the fan hooked to 12v molex and the front fan is also hooked the same way. It is pulling air in, the lettering is pointed to the inside of the case. Do you think the cpu shoud may be blocking air flow. It can hold a 92 inside the shoud to pull air through it, I haven't put one in yet?

Ah, you must be using a Sonata II. That one has a 3 speed switch on the rear fan. What speed are you running it? I tried the additional fan in the duct and it did nothing for the temp. Maybe 1 degree but that's not even worth crediting the fan addition.

Guess I'd say leave it then. Maybe you're just in a warm room. Keep an eye on the temps.
