Im very frustrated with Nero, and also with myself. For some reason I can't add .avi files to Nero so i can burn or make them into a DVD. I plan to watch them on my DVD player at home. But for some reason, whenever I add the video files, it says "unable to insert "C:/Documents, etc etc.". Ive already tried 6 different .avi files and they've shown up as the same message. Nero 7 is able to encode .avi files, but for some reason it can't read these files or add them.
A trouble shoot thing i did was download some small movie off a website and add it to Nero. It worked fine and only took up 10 mb of my DVD. But for some reason my .avi (large movies) won't add! I have done this before on Nero 6 using .avi files. But this time it is not working. Anyone have any suggestions? |

Are you using Nero Burning Rom, Nero Express, or NeroVision Express?

Information on the DVD-Video plug-in
In order to create and encode video to DVD-Video and/or Super Video CD (SVCD) and/or miniDVD and HD-Burn standard, the source video files need to be encoded into the appropriate MPEG-2 format. SVCD's, miniDVD and HD-Burn and DVD-Video discs can then be created on the appropriate hardware for playback on compatible DVD players. If the original data is not available in a computable format, you will need to create the DVD-Video plug-in. You can acquire this at www.nero.com. The DVD-Video plug-in is already included in retail version. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is yours the retail version? |

No, that's not retail if it came with a burner. It's OEM Suite and you need the plugin.
