I bought GameDriver V.10 specifically to play Quake4. However, I have the game copied to my hard drive, etc, and when I insert the game into the virtual drive I get the following message:
"Cannot locate the Quake 4(TM) DVD, select application and restart application" I would appriciate it if anyone can tell me where I'm going wrong. Muchas gracias, Kelp

Welcome to PCMech Kelp,
Now tell us your specs and so we know what we're dealing with (You're using XP, right?). If you cracked the game and screwed the copy protection we can't get you out of this but if that's not it we may be able to help. edit : Please don't post with those fonts, plain text is sufficient.

Hello pam123,
Thanks for getting back to my posting. Yes, I am running XP. If you are familiar with GameDrive, you use it to create a VCD. I get that far and autorun kicks in and up comes the Quake4 splash screen. However, the play option on the splash screen is not active to make it available. The install button is and if I click it, Quake4 is then re-installs back onto my hard drive and the insert product code prompt comes up too. If I follow this sequence through the game is then re-installed on my hard drive, but GameDrive won't play it from there either and that is when the prompt comes up asking for the disk to be inserted. It is an origninal game disk that I am using and it does work fine if I fully install it and then use the DVD disk at the same time to run the game. GameDrive V.10 says that it does support Quake4, but something is wrong. PC Spec: Dell Inspiron 9300/1.86GHz/1GB Ram/XP Professional Many thanks, Kelp Last edited by Kelp; 07-01-2006 at 01:46 PM. |
