Net Framework?

Hi,
For some reason ATI Radeon video cards now make you install Net Framework 1.1. Is it of any advantage to upgrade to Net Framework 2?
TIA

I generally don't install .NET stuff unless an application specifically needs it. Since ATI just needs version 1.1, that's what I would stick with.

I've never been able to get .NET 1.0 or 1.1 to work on my comp but .NET 2.0 first as a beta and now as a recent update works just fine.
I point out that if you don't want the CCC, can't blame you, Rage3D has these instructions for using the older Control Panel : http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33839451
You'll have a problem with anything after the 5.12 drivers though and you may want to switch to ATI Tray Tools : http://www.guru3d.com/article/atitraytools/189/
If you've got one of 1XXX cards though then it's either tray tools or the CCC and .NET and you'll need the recent drivers.
No matter what solution you decide on, depending on your card, get the latest DX9 update from Microsoft.

Thanks doctorgonzo and pam123, everything seems to work ok, so I guess I'll just leave it alone.
