Office 2007 is in the very early stages of development. Do NOT install it on a critical/non test machine....Yes it has a time limit and yes, in "theory" you should be able to uninstall it.

What he's saying is be careful. The purpose of a Beta is to test out software among a larger audience to weed out any remaining bugs. If you've got important projects in progress, or important deadlines soon, don't install the beta as it has the potential to cause you problems.

Actually, Office 2007 is not in the early stages of development. Maybe when I started beta testing, but not now. I've had it on my production machine for about 6 months already. PCWorld's Chief Editor Harry McCracken has had it installed on his production machine also for a few months. It is just about ready for a RC (release candidate), and IMO is very stable.

They are correct in warning you about installing 'any' beta software onto a production machine. But Office 2007 is a much lower risk in its current stage than most others. Just remember that when you install beta software, including this one, to read all, and I mean all of the release notes.
