outlook help please

i have my outlook set up to download mail sent to my university account.
that account gets a ridiculous amont of spam.
the spam arrives as deleted but still makes the "new mail" sound and i see that little envelope on the task bar.
i'd also like all mail that is sent to users@..... be directed into it's own folder and not make a sound.

can someone guide me through it please?

outlook

I dont know if this will help but:

In outlook
1. tools
2. options
3. preferences
4. email options
5. advanced email options.

There is a check for SOUND when new mail arrives

Also: You should be able to go to tools, rules and create a new rule for what you are trying to do.
