freeware to lock folder ?
I'm looking for software to lock/secure a folder.
Everything I've found locks the individual files inside the folder and each file has to be passworded individually to view them. Do you know of some simple method to lock an entire folder? It does not have to be very secure; just simple. Thanks |

The following isn't free, but if the files are important, the $35.00 shouldn't be too bad...
Folder Lock

Thanks Stvy- There are a lot out there for $30+.
I don't need any serious security - its just some personal diary and journal files that I dont want opened by accident. I had the file 'hidden' by giving it a wierd name like sbq432jf78, but 'save as' defaults to the most recently or frequently used folder that was saved to, and thus becomes a "hey? whats this?" when some other user goes to save a file. Maybe if I could turn off that default ' save as' location feature it would be enough security. Last edited by Parangles; 08-08-2006 at 03:03 PM. |

Respect ! I am running W2Kpro. Don't see any encrypt options there.
Good idea.Thanks. I'll look on the Microsoft site and see if I can find anything. Just need something simple. Chris. |
