WinAVI Converter: The Virus!

Ever since installing WinAVI Converter and the Real Media Plug-in, I keep getting pop ups to upgrade WinAVi and for QT to open in my task bar.

I guess they'll do anything to get you to buy it.

Excuse me, I already have WinAVI. It's Real Player that wants me to upgrade. I think they have a good product, but I try not to use it specifically because they have always been a nag.

OK, Real Player beat me down. I upgraded. Spybot Tea Timer is keeping QuickTime from installing itself in the boot sequence.

You don't have to use Realplayer or Quicktime.

You can opt for Real Alternative and Quicktime Alternative, respectively.

They're both open source and work relatively well.

The pop up was driving me nuts. So I installed their latest version. RM makes for some real small files for movies on the hard drive. I actually like both products, as far as technical merits. I just don't like being nagged.
