Question Computer to computer file transfer

I remember a long time ago I transfered files from one computer to another with a crossover cable from Nic card to Nic card and useing simple Windows software thats already loaded but I cant remember how to do it.Does anyone know where there are simple instructions on how to do this? I googled it and cant find it....

If both machines are running XP or Win2K, you can put them both in the same Workgroup and give each pc a separate name. Turn on File and Print Sharing for each nic, set the folders you want to share and you should be good to go. Or you can run the Network Wizard.

Red this sounds like what I did the last time(5yrs ago) but I dont remember Exactly how to do it..Both computers are on WINXP PRO SP2...

Just run the home networking wizard on both machines - it will do it all for you.
