Thumbs down Firefox Screwed up?

When i use Mozilla Firefox it always starts up the same way, covering about half of my screen to the left side, i can maximise it, but when i close it and re-open it it is in the same place( left side of my screen. It also wont let em save anything to my favorites, i click add to favorites and nothing at all happens. And when i try to customize the toolbar to add a new tab button it just goes away after i close firefox and reopen it. Several other things im sure are wrong with it, any ideas what i can do to fix it? I have tried uninstalling it and reinstaling it, but same problem, its the newest version btw.

When you uninstall it, it doesn't get rid of your profile. Something in there is screwed up. Back up your bookmark file (bookmarks, manage bookmarks, file, export), uninstall it again, and delete the profile folder. It's found in docs and settings\username\application data\mozilla\firefox.

My Computer> right click on 'C' >open>docs and settings.
edit : Check program files.

c:\documents and settings

You may have to show system and hidden files and folders in your folder options to find what you need.

You still have a Firefox profile. You have to find it in documents and settings. Have you enabled display of system and hidden files yet? If it's not where I said, look in docs and settings\username\local settings\application data\mozilla.

Search your hard drive for bookmarks.html - when you find that, that's where your profile is.

I have searched for anythign on my harddrive pertaining to firefox, and im pretty sure my files arent hiden, but how can i check, i have uninstalled it, deleted everything related to it, and i run a search using keywords, bookmarks firefox, mozilla, etc. I also have IE7 and opera, could that have anythign to do with it, after using all 3 browsers i found firefox dominates, so how can i fix it?

Open my documents or whatever folder, tools---folder options---view---hidden files and folders--check show hidden files and folders.
Don't forget to change the setting back to do not show when you are done troubleshooting.
