for some reason recently i have been having problems running Proxy Switcher Pro with my computer. previously i was running a slightly older version w/o incident until i ran the program and i recieved the genuine Mircosoft Send Error Report window popping up sayin Proxy Switcher has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience... i only get this error message the second i attempt to perform a task with the program. if i leave the Proxy Switcher window open w/o selection anything or performing any tasks i dont get this error msg but than what good does it do >/ ? so if any1 has any insight to help me out here id appreciate thanx- ltrz

Sounds like registry corruption.
Are you willing to repair XP? |

okay do this...
1. Uninstall proxy switcher.
2. run a registry cleaner. CCleaner is a favorite here : http://www.ccleaner.com/ Now check how your computer runs, make note of any glitches since they may tell you how the trouble started in the first place. If you haven't recently scan for malware. Pull out the XP cd and run a full system repair install, you're not going to be using the repair console for this. Instructions here : http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=151522 You will need to re-install all the updates and drivers after you've done this but it won't touch your data. When everything is up and running well, now set a restore point. That done install the latest copy of proxy switcher. |
