Use Belarc Advisor on a running machine and it will show you all the Product Keys

Look under Software Licenses after all the hardware listings and Windows Updates. The key should be in () after the license number.

it had the key codes for windows XP and for internet explorer (which was the same as the one for XP), but nothing came up next to the MS office one.

Must be it doesn't work for Office 2K. I'm using Office XP Student & Teacher version. Google searches seem to indicate that Office 2000 is a problem one for finding the key.

lol yeah i downloaded a trial version of a program to find the CD key for ms office 2000, specifically designed for that, and even that didnt work. how much did that XP S&T edition cost, im a student, and wouldnt mind upgrading. Office 2K is a little old anyway.

Office Student and Teacher is $150. If you're going off to college you should also check whether you can get Office cheaply through them.

In the meantime, you could use Open Office - it's free. The only thing you would lose is Outlook - it's reasonably compatible with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
