While diagnosing a laptop computer I was having difficulty connecting MS Outlook as the e-mail provider. Upon further investigation of Outlook I noticed that there is no Send/Receive button. This is the student/teacher edition; I use 2003 Pro and haven't seen this on it. Is this a stripped down version or is there something else I should be looking at?

Nope. It's not a stripped down version. You'll need to look at toolbar options that might be turned off...Have you sent/received any mail?

No! That's the problem; when I set Outlook up to receive e-mail and then did the "test" the e-mail does NOT make it to Outlook. The "test" e-mail does make it, however, to the DSL carrier. I will try your suggestion and let you know. Thanks, much!

You might try checking the account settings as well.
Sometimes just re-doing them carefully works.

The Send button is missing in a new Outlook 2002 or in a new Outlook 2003 message
