MS Office Q

I see that MS Office has as many version availible as there are versions of XP. My question was if there is any real difference.
The reason that i am asking is that i am considering purchasing MS Office, student and teacher edition. I am currently a student so i fall under the catagory , but i was wondering if there were any benefits with going tot he normal version. or the buisness version.
I dont really want to spend the money, but i will if there are features that are not included in the student and techer version

You guys are always there to help and i thank you for it
Ben

Student and Teacher edition is the same as Office Standard Edition. Both include Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.

The Professional version includes Access and Publisher. If you need either of those, best to buy that version. Otherwise, Student & Teacher would work fine.

If you are a college student, look at the software offered by your university. They usually have major discounts.

If you're really watching the budget you can download Open Office for free.
It's compatible with MS Office.

I would download Open Office if I was back in your shoes. Save the money.

Student Teacher is a fully functional full copy etc of all the programs in it, two big differences are

1) It is a three PC license- completely- not like the regular Office that 'allows' a second install on a laptop but you can not use both installs at the same time (not sure how they figure that one out).

2) It does NOT qualify you for the next version non Student Teacher purchase as an upgrade - but since the Student Teacher is cheaper than the upgrade has been in the psat you are saving money by just buying the next Student Teacher version.
