msn messenger messing up

Hello , today msn messenger 7.5 started locking up . The program starts but when you sign in it seems to open it self twice in task manager and it just locks up , I usually just get a spinning msn logo and then it freezes . I have installed and uninstalled the program and even tried downloading the new one , the exact same thing happened . i ran crap cleaner and tried again but it still didn't work , avg found nothing and ad-aware found nothing . I am semi-fustrated any help anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.

The computer is in the signature , windows xp sp2 .

OK read through this thread : http://www.bigblueball.com/forums/ms...uter-help.html

It seems messenger can be tricky to remove.
It's a little late but if you have MS Office it may be possible to repair a damaged messenger install from within it.

Hi all!
I have had the same problem for a few days now and finally found a tip that I tested, sure it was not only for Msn Messenger 7.5 but I had similiar problems with outlook and chm files and so forth.
Start i.e. Excel and click on the menu
Help-Identify and repair check both boxes and accept
Made wonders for me, hope it helps rest of ya!
Regards,
Henke

Glad it worked, if that's what did it, but I'm worried.
Computer clocks are notoriously inaccurrate (though it has improved).
What's your upkeep plan?
