Microsoft Word

Today, while trying to type a letter on MS Word, I had gotten in about two paragraphs when a box popped up that said:
Microsoft Visual C++Runtime Library
Runtime error!
Program: C\Program Files\MS Office\Office 10\Winword.EXE
Abnormal program termination.

Then I had to click on OK...when I did, the box and the Word program with my letter disappeared and I was back at the desktop. I tried three times to do this and it would wait till I had about two paragraphs in and then it would happen again. The third time Word and my letter both just disappeared without the box popping up. HELP! What's going on here? I've never heard of a "runtime error" before. Thank you in advance.

You may have to repair word by going to ad remove programs, and then Microsoft Word, click on change, and it will then prompt you to repair Microsoft word. You will need the word disk.

Also, go to Tools->Options->Save and turn on Always Create a Backup
