Tiny Screen area(view) after installing OS

I recently reformatted my Dell Insp. 1100 and installed Windows XP Pro. After installation process, the screen area was at 640 by 480 pixels. I went to Display Properties/Settings and attempting to increase the screen area, but that option was not available.

What seems to be the problem?

You should have another disk, separate from your OS re-install disc, that says Drivers and Utilities. Follow the directions to install your video drivers from it.

All the driver you will need are here:

http://support.euro.dell.com/support...&os=WW1&osl=EN

in case you don't have the Drivers CD

This is the link for the video card driver...the most likely cause of the low res:

Also check the BIOS while you're at it. I had a problem like that, and somewhere in the BIOS there was an option to force the image to fill the monitors screen. Your bios might not have that option.. but it's worth checking out.

I agree with the others, you don't have your drivers installed.
