Acronis True Image 7.0, Free Download...

Not sure if this has been posted yet but Acronis is offering an older version of their software (7.0) for free, all you have to do is register on their site here http://www.acronis.com/mag/vnu-ati7

Okay, I have a serial number - now where do I download the software itself?

Grrr - found it with the help of Google. They don't make it easy.

If you read down the thread a ways, there's instructions on how to get to the direct download from Acronis...........the link in the first post didn't work the first time I tried it. You have to log into your newly created account and go into your registered packages.

To get the free download follow these steps:

register at the link posted at the top of the screen.
they will send you and email.
copy and paste a link you receive from the email into your browser to complete registration. after registration is complete they will provide you with a password which is needed to login to retrieve the acronis 7.0 download.
click on "manage my registered products" link which should be right above the password
login with your email address and password to download the acronis 7.0 file.
