Outlook 2003 No Longer Checks email Automatically when I open it

I have a clean install of Office 2003 as I just reformatted my new Dell XPS M1710. For some reason, Outlook no longer checks for email automatically when I open it. I have to click Send/Receive to check for any new mail.

It's not a big deal I guess since I have no problem receiving or sending mail. But I don't understand why I have to click Send/Receive in order to check for email. It was working fine until I installed Windows Live Messenger (I think). I don't know if one of the settings in Messenger has changed my Outlook email settings or what. I've looked at the email options in Outlook and I'm not sure what setting needs to be checked or unchecked in order for this to work again-if that's all it is.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm running XP Media Center btw.

Thanks in advance

That box was unchecked and it looks like that was the problem.

Thanks.
