What size disc are you wiping? Kill disk writes zeros to the entire surface of your drive, to make sure it's completely free of data. This can take a long time with bigger discs - hours rather than minutes - and there's no way to avoid that if you want to destroy all data.

then part of your hard drive will still have data on it, so parts of the drive will be written with zeros and other parts wont even be touched with zeros.

I don't care if I lose the data or keep it. I just want to install another OS on the system. The disk size is 80 GB Will I be able to do that if i stop this killdisk?

just boot to your OS disc (2000,XP), and delete the partition and just recreate it a parittion and format the partition as nffs. windows will take care of the rest.

Just an observation - impatience leads to problems. I highly recommend once a zero fill is started, you let it run till it's done or you may have problems with the drive.
